Infrastructure guide
Model serving patterns
Compare dedicated deployment and managed token billing under equivalent quality and service targets.
Measure the traffic shape
Capture peak requests per second, requests over the month, input and output tokens, context length and burst windows. Keep streaming and batching policies consistent. Measure output throughput with realistic prompts at the intended latency and error targets.
Select the operating boundary
A managed endpoint can reduce work around fleet operations. A dedicated deployment may provide greater control over environment, scaling and region. Review quotas, version policy, content handling, tenancy, observability and support before choosing a model.
Compare the complete invoice
Token rates may differ between input, output and cached input. A dedicated rate may omit storage, networking and operations. A meaningful comparison uses consistent quality, service levels, redundancy, residency and output definition.
Run a scenario
Open Inference Economics and record the assumptions in a CSV. Set measured per-replica throughput using the intended workload before treating a sizing result as a planning input.
